Duty Rota
The Duty Rota covers day and weekend duty in port or at anchor. Describe what you need in plain words; the rota is built by a fixed rule set and then checked against the rules.
Key capabilities
What it does
- Total duties and weekend duties balanced separately
- No one takes both days of a weekend or two weekends running, where the crew numbers allow
- Exclusions and crew sign-on / sign-off dates respected: nobody is on duty while ashore or travelling
- Heads of department identified from their role, for weekend-only requests
- Each rota checked after building, with errors and warnings shown; any day can be reassigned
- Standing orders on the rota: General, Fire Watch, Security / Safety, Cleanliness and Uniform
- PDF calendar and a saved archive of past rotas

Just ask the AI Assistant
- Make a duty rota for November, heads of department on weekends, Oscar Quayle excluded.
- Who is on duty this Saturday?
Anything it would change comes back as a card first. Nothing is saved until you press Approve.
Why it mattersDrawing up in-port duty by hand causes friction. A rota built by rule and checked afterwards is balanced, respects who is away, and shows its working.
